The Cluny 2 date lands while The Dunwells are finishing their fifth studio album, giving the autumn tour a bridge between their established catalogue and the next record. Their own current live page says the album is due in autumn 2026, while new single I Feel You is already part of the latest chapter.
Joe and David Dunwell have spent years refining a sound built around close harmonies, strong melodies and a blend of indie-folk and Americana. Their debut Blind Sighted Faith introduced that approach internationally, and the brothers have since toured extensively in the UK, Europe and the US while sharing stages with artists including Mumford & Sons, Elbow, Tom Jones and Bryan Adams.
The Newcastle date should therefore feel less like a straightforward catalogue show than the older preview suggested. With another album nearing completion, the live set has room to place newer songs alongside material that has been tested across years of touring.
Roswell Road are a particularly relevant support choice. The London-based duo of Zoë Wren and Jasmine Watkiss build their own sound around close harmonies and candid Americana songwriting, and they have also been recording with The Dunwells. That existing creative connection should make the pairing feel more coherent than an unrelated opening slot.
Cluny 2 is well suited to both acts. The smaller room gives vocal harmonies and acoustic detail space to register without being swallowed by a larger production, while still allowing the fuller band sections to carry enough weight.
