The Lindisfarne Story is a live celebration of Tyneside folk-rock legends Lindisfarne, created and performed by Ray Laidlaw and Billy Mitchell. Laidlaw was a founder member of Lindisfarne, while Mitchell later joined the band after years working alongside people from its wider musical circle.
The show combines live performances with archive material, stories and first-hand memories from the band’s history. Songs including Meet Me on the Corner, Lady Eleanor, Fog on the Tyne and Run for Home sit alongside spoken sections tracing Lindisfarne’s rise from Tyneside pubs and clubs to national success.
On selected dates the production expands into The Lindisfarne Story Band, with additional musicians joining Laidlaw and Mitchell. The project continues to tour around the UK while keeping its North East identity at the centre, with a run of regional dates in spring 2027 including The Witham, The Glasshouse, Gala Durham and The Exchange 1856.
