Bonanza Festival Brings Adi and Benny to Cobalt Studios

Bonanza Festival Cobalt Studios brings a slice of the Colombian underground to Newcastle on Friday 25 September 2026, with Adi and Benny taking over from 11pm until 3am. The event is 20+ and gives the pair the full night to shape the room without handing over to a long supporting bill.

Bonanza has built its identity around a jungle setting, adventurous bookings and a focus on sound rather than spectacle. Bringing that approach into Cobalt creates an interesting contrast because the Newcastle venue is much smaller and more intimate, but it shares the same emphasis on community and close dancefloor energy.

Adi is a Colombia-born, Berlin-based DJ and curator known for an exploratory approach to electronic music, while Benny is a UK-born, Colombia-based DJ and one of the people behind El Rio Hostel and Bonanza itself. That gives the night two connected perspectives on the same wider scene rather than two unrelated headline names.

The four-hour format should allow them to move beyond obvious peak-time choices. Acid, old-school rave, bass-heavy club music and more psychedelic records can all sit inside the same set if there is enough time to build the transitions properly. Cobalt’s small room should make those changes feel immediate.

The 20+ age restriction is also worth noting before booking. Cobalt has been trialling selected nights with higher age limits, and this is one of them. Anyone heading down should bring appropriate ID and check the promoter and venue channels before travelling for any late changes.

The venue’s no-camera policy remains in place, so the emphasis is on the music and the dancefloor. For Newcastle clubbers who like long sets and less predictable programming, this feels like one of Cobalt’s more distinctive autumn bookings.
