Butch Kassidy Bring Immersive Post-Rock to Cluny 2
London project Butch Kassidy bring immersive post-rock, heavy drone, noise and folk influences to the close quarters of Cluny 2.

Butch Kassidy Newcastle brings the London group’s immersive post-rock to Cluny 2 on Wednesday 4 November 2026. Noise, heavy drone and folk influences feed into compositions designed to build slowly before landing with much greater force.

Butch Kassidy combine post-rock scale with noise, heavy drone and traces of folk music. That mixture separates the project from bands that rely only on familiar quiet-loud dynamics. Instead, texture and sustained tension become important parts of the writing.
Butch Kassidy Newcastle puts volume in close quarters
The group’s compositions are built for immersion. Repeated patterns can hold the audience in place, while distortion changes the weight of a section without requiring a conventional chorus. Consequently, the live environment matters as much as the basic notes.
Cluny 2 will place the band’s immersive walls of sound inside a particularly close room. The audience can see how each layer is added, yet the combined volume should still feel physically large. Therefore, this Newcastle date offers a useful meeting between ambitious music and a compact venue.
The folk influence is another interesting detail. It introduces melody and atmosphere into material that could otherwise become purely abrasive. Meanwhile, heavy drone allows those melodic ideas to stretch, blur and return in altered forms.
Butch Kassidy are still presented as one of London’s newer projects. However, their focus on live impact gives them a clear identity before a vast catalogue has accumulated. For audiences discovering them through this date, the show itself should provide the strongest introduction.
No support act appears on the current official page. Doors open at 7.30pm, and advance tickets cost £12.50 plus fees. The event is for ages 16 and over. In addition, under-18s must attend with an adult.
This isn’t background-friendly post-rock. The appeal lies in following a piece as small details gather into something dense, loud and difficult to ignore. Cluny 2 should keep that process visible as well as audible.
Butch Kassidy play Cluny 2, Newcastle, on Wednesday 4 November 2026. Tickets and current information are available through The Cluny’s official event page. Please check the venue and artist channels before travelling.
