CADDYSHACK at The Point Sunderland
Caddyshack bring rock, pop, rock ’n’ roll and blues to The Point Sunderland on Saturday 21 November. Event starts 7pm; trio live 8:45pm.
Caddyshack take The Point Sunderland’s Saturday Live Lounge slot on 21 November with a three-piece set that reaches back further than most of the autumn rock nights. The North East trio work through rock, pop and rock ’n’ roll from the 1950s onwards, with blues also part of the wider live repertoire.
Table Of Content
That decade-spanning approach gives the band plenty of room to move. Older rock ’n’ roll material can sit alongside later classic rock and pop without the night being tied to a single era, while the trio format should keep the arrangements lean and direct.
Caddyshack at The Point Sunderland
The event starts at 7pm, with Happy Hour running from 7pm to 8pm. Caddyshack are live on stage at 8:45pm and entry is free. The three-piece line-up keeps the focus on a live-band sound rather than a themed retro production.
The long time span is probably the strongest part of the set. A group that can move from 50s material into later rock and pop has more scope to surprise the room, and the blues side gives them another route when they want to slow things down or put more emphasis on the playing.
A trio covering several decades
For people who like familiar music but do not want a night fixed around one decade, Caddyshack look like a good fit. The band can dip into different periods without losing the basic thread of guitars, rhythm and songs built to work live.
