Jake Bugg Brings His Stripped-Back 2027 Tour to The Glasshouse
Jake Bugg brings his stripped-back 2027 tour to The Glasshouse in Gateshead on 17 February, with a 7pm start in Sage One.

Jake Bugg at The Glasshouse in Gateshead on Wednesday 17 February 2027 brings his songwriting into a more intimate setting after years of larger tours, festival stages and full-band dates. The Sage One concert starts at 7pm and forms part of a stripped-back 2027 run built around Bugg performing with little more than his voice, guitar and the songs that have carried him from his teenage breakthrough to a seventh studio album.
Table Of Content
The timing of the tour gives the Gateshead date a clear focus. Bugg releases Alamo in November 2026, and the new record sees him lean back towards the folk, country and roots influences that have always sat underneath the sharper edges of his catalogue. That makes a solo-format show a natural fit, with the newer material sitting alongside songs from across a career that began with his chart-topping self-titled debut.
New single Day By Day offers a closer look at Alamo
Jake Bugg’s latest track, Day By Day, adds another dimension to what audiences can expect when his solo tour reaches Gateshead. Built around acoustic fingerpicking, the song deals with perseverance, uncertainty and the effort of getting through difficult times. Its quieter, more reflective feel should be well suited to an intimate show where the lyrics and guitar playing are firmly in the foreground.
The song is taken from Alamo, released on 13 November 2026 through Thirty Tigers. The 11-track record is Bugg’s seventh studio album and his first as an independent artist after years with major labels. Produced by Jimmy Hogarth and Steve McEwan, it returns to the blues, roots, folk and rock influences that helped shape his early music, with writing that looks more directly at personal experience. Earlier single Never Can Tell offers a livelier, country-tinged contrast.
Two North East chances to see Jake Bugg
Before the Gateshead concert, Bugg visits HMV Newcastle on Friday 20 November 2026 for an acoustic performance and album signing as part of his record-store tour. The HMV event is listed for 5pm, with entry arrangements handled by the store. Read our Newcastle HMV preview or check HMV’s event information.
His February 2027 dates then take the new record into a different kind of setting, with a run of seated solo shows across the UK and Ireland. Gateshead falls between Glasgow and Sheffield, ahead of stops in Liverpool, Bristol, Nottingham and three London Union Chapel dates. For audiences in the North East, the contrast is appealing: a short record-store appearance in November, followed by a full-length stripped-back concert in February.
For tickets and updated show information, visit The Glasshouse’s official Jake Bugg event page. The venue lists Sage One, a 7pm event time and tickets from £35.20; the artist’s exact stage time has yet to be announced.
Jake Bugg at The Glasshouse
Rather than building the night around a large production, this concert puts the writing at the centre. Bugg has spent close to 15 years moving between acoustic storytelling, indie rock and rootsier material, so the stripped-back setup should give older songs and newer tracks room to land differently from their recorded versions. Alamo also arrives with a more folk-leaning character, which gives this tour its own identity rather than feeling like another standard pass through the back catalogue.
The Glasshouse date is in Sage One and is fully seated, with tickets starting from £35.20. Support is included on the billing, although the supporting artist has not yet been named. Under-14s must be accompanied by an adult, while stage times beyond the advertised 7pm start are still to be confirmed closer to the show.
For anyone who first came across Bugg through songs such as Lightning Bolt and Two Fingers, the appeal here is the chance to hear that material in a setting that strips away some of the usual live-show weight. At the same time, newer songs from Alamo should have space to show how his writing has shifted as he has moved further from the teenage artist who arrived with a Number One debut.
