KERRISON COLLECTIVE at The Point Sunderland

Kerrison Collective arrive at The Point Sunderland on Friday 13 November with a set rooted in soulful blues rather than general rock covers. The band are relatively new, but their reference points are established names: Jeff Beck, Wynona Carr, John Mayer, Samantha Fish, Little Walter and Joe Bonamassa all sit naturally around the sound.

That mix suggests a band looking at blues from several angles. Little Walter brings older blues language, Jeff Beck pushes towards expressive guitar playing, while Samantha Fish and Joe Bonamassa sit closer to the modern blues-rock end. John Mayer adds a smoother, more contemporary thread.
