Rusty Haloz take the Sunday Club slot at The Point Sunderland on 4 October with a set aimed at people who still want their Sunday afternoon to sound like a rock night. The North East tribute band focus on big 1980s anthems and later rock favourites, with Bon Jovi, Pink Floyd and Cutting Crew giving a good sense of the ground they cover.
Table Of Content
The early timing gives the date its own character. Sunday Club starts at 3pm, Happy Hour runs from 3pm to 4pm and Rusty Haloz are live at 4pm. That puts the band on stage while most venues are only beginning to think about opening for the evening.
Rusty Haloz at Sunday Club
The band lean into high-energy, audience-friendly rock, which suits the material well. Songs from the 80s rock end of the spectrum tend to rely on big choruses and recognisable guitar lines, so there should be very little distance between the band and the room once the set gets moving.
The mix is broader than a straight hair-metal night. Bon Jovi provides the obvious arena-rock side, Pink Floyd adds a different scale and texture, while Cutting Crew points towards the more melodic end of the decade.
