SexyTadhg Newcastle | Cluny 2 Gig Preview
SexyTadhg bring the SLUTTRAD tour to Cluny 2 Newcastle on 21 October 2026, combining Irish tradition with jazz, soul and theatrical pop.
SexyTadhg Newcastle brings the SLUTTRAD tour to Cluny 2 on Wednesday 21 October 2026, with doors at 7.30pm. The Carlow multi-instrumentalist arrives with a full-band show that pulls traditional Irish music into the same space as big-band jazz, theatrical soul and pop.
SexyTadhg Newcastle brings SLUTTRAD to Cluny 2
The Cluny 2 date is part of a 14-show UK and Ireland tour built around the TADHG EP, which deliberately reframes traditional Irish music through queer culture and a more theatrical live language. That gives the Newcastle show a clear identity beyond the usual folk-tour format.
The live setup is central to that idea. SexyTadhg combines piano and keytar with brass, layered harmonies and a groove-heavy rhythm section, allowing the arrangements to move between intimate passages and much larger, stage-filling moments. The Cluny 2 room should make those shifts feel especially immediate because the audience remains close to the band throughout the set.
The TADHG EP also gives the tour fresh material rather than leaning only on older songs. Its mix of Irish tradition, pop ambition and themes around gender, sexuality and mental health pushes the project into territory that feels both personal and deliberately expansive.
There is a strong theatrical streak too. SexyTadhg’s stage persona is designed to be bold and oversized, but the musicianship underneath it matters just as much. Comparisons with artists such as David Bowie, Elton John and Lady Gaga make sense at the level of presentation, while the Irish folk influence gives the music a different foundation.
For Newcastle audiences, that combination makes this one of the more unusual Cluny 2 bookings in October. It is neither a conventional trad show nor a straightforward pop gig, and the smaller room should help the full-band detail stay visible rather than disappearing behind production.
SexyTadhg plays Cluny 2 on Wednesday 21 October 2026. Doors are at 7.30pm and the event is 16+, with under-18s required to attend with an adult. Check SexyTadhg and The Cluny’s official channels before travelling for any late changes to timings, support or admission information.
