The Gathering Sounds 2026 Brings 50+ Acts Across Stockton

The Gathering Sounds 2026 returns to Stockton-on-Tees on Saturday 26 September, bringing more than 50 live acts to seven stages across the town centre. The one-day festival runs from 1pm until 11pm and is built around the kind of venue-hopping that makes a multi-stage event feel properly connected to the place hosting it.

Running since 2018, The Gathering Sounds is organised by KU Promotions and has become a showcase for new and emerging music from across the UK and Ireland. That focus matters in Teesside, where the team behind the festival has spent more than two decades promoting gigs and says giving North East artists a platform remains a big part of why the event exists.

The first wave already gives the 2026 edition plenty to dig into. Overpass, Basht. and Sunderland’s Tom A. Smith are among the leading names, while the wider bill includes TTSSFU, Good Health Good Wealth, M60, Shelf Lives, Charlie Floyd, Cutscene, Daisy Brown, Central Arcade, The Dream Machine, The Kellows, Marketplace, Marrick, Swindled and more. Further names are also expected, so the line-up is still developing.

The Gathering Sounds 2026 across seven Stockton stages

Rather than putting everything into one outdoor arena, The Gathering Sounds spreads the day across Stockton’s existing music spaces. The official venue list includes ARC Stockton Arts Centre, KU Stockton, The Georgian Theatre, The Green Room, The LINK and The Social Room, with ARC hosting two stages to take the total to seven. The LINK hosts the This Feeling stage, while The Green Room is home to the NAME stage.

That setup is one of the festival’s strongest selling points. You can move between established grassroots venues, catch very different artists within a short walk and build your own route through the day rather than sticking to one fixed running order. It also puts Stockton’s independent venue circuit at the centre of the event instead of using the town simply as a backdrop.

Tickets are listed at £29.50 plus booking fee through Fatsoma. Entry is 14+, with under-16s needing to be accompanied by an adult, and last entry is 9pm. The advertised festival hours are 1pm to 11pm.

With more than 50 acts due across seven stages, The Gathering Sounds is the sort of day where arriving with one or two names in mind is only half the point. The more interesting part is likely to be what you find between them.
