Old Corpse Road are a Darlington black metal band formed in 2007, with music rooted heavily in British folklore, myth and landscape. Their sound combines fierce black metal with melodic passages, spoken word, folk-influenced vocals and atmospheric sections, giving the songs a narrative quality as well as sheer weight.

The band take their name from a coffin road in the Lake District, and that fascination with older stories runs through releases including ’Tis Witching Hour… As Spectres We Haunt this Kingdom, Of Campfires and Evening Mists and On Ghastly Shores Lays the Wreckage of Our Lore.

Old Corpse Road have toured extensively around the UK and appeared at festivals including Bloodstock and Hammerfest while remaining closely connected to the Darlington metal scene. Their 2026 North East dates include a hometown-area show at The Forum Music Centre on 24 September before a Newcastle bill at Little Buildings in October.
