Bones Ate Arfa Bring Brighton Noise to Head of Steam
Brighton trio Bones Ate Arfa bring psychedelic street punk and desert rock to Head of Steam Newcastle on 19 September 2026.

Bones Ate Arfa Newcastle arrives at Head of Steam on Saturday 19 September 2026, with doors at 7pm and special guests still to be announced. The Brighton three-piece bring a mix of psychedelic street punk, desert rock and garage-heavy riffs to the basement room on Neville Street, with the show presented by Liift.
The band is made up of Bones on guitar, 8 on drums and Arfa on vocals and bass. That compact line-up has become part of the appeal because there is very little space for excess. Guitar, rhythm and bass all have to work hard, which gives the music a wiry, physical quality that suits a small room.
Bones Ate Arfa Newcastle hits Head of Steam
The Newcastle show lands during a run built around the band’s current It’s All Good material and the next SODA release. Bones Ate Arfa’s official pages currently place both at the front of the band’s activity, alongside a tour schedule that keeps the trio moving through grassroots rooms rather than jumping straight to larger stages.
That makes Head of Steam a good fit. The downstairs venue is close, loud and direct, and Bones Ate Arfa’s music depends on that sense of pressure. Their Bandcamp describes the group as a psychedelic street punk and desert rock three-piece, while recent releases have continued to push the sound between abrasive riffs, off-centre hooks and a scrappy sense of momentum.
The timing is interesting too. The Newcastle date follows a run of September shows that takes the band through Chelmsford, Southsea and Birmingham before further dates around the UK. By the time they reach Neville Street, the newer material should already have had several nights to settle into the live set.
Liift has listed special guests as TBA, so the full shape of the bill may still develop before the show. For now, the focus is firmly on Bones Ate Arfa and a headline set that should suit one of Newcastle’s more intimate city-centre rooms.
