COLA Newcastle brings the trio’s third album to The Cluny on Friday 6 November 2026. The record uses an economic phrase as its starting point, then turns towards politics, chance, memory and the strange pressures of ordinary life.
The title C.O.L.A. expands to Cost of Living Adjustment and frames the band’s third record. It is almost self-titled, yet the added meaning changes how the songs sit together. Economics becomes a doorway into much more personal and unsettled territory.

Tim Darcy, Evan Cartwright and Ben Stidworthy use that framework to examine pressure, chance and nostalgia. The record considers opposing political futures, while also following the emotional pull of memory. Consequently, large ideas and smaller private reactions share the same space.
The album is described by the band as a deepening of its existing work. That distinction matters because it avoids presenting every new record as a complete reinvention. Instead, COLA refines familiar instincts and pushes their details further.
“Hedgesitting” offers an early route into this phase, although the full album supplies the wider context. Carefully controlled arrangements can feel intricate without becoming cluttered. Meanwhile, stranger turns prevent the music from settling into a predictable pattern.
The Cluny should suit that balance. Its standing room can carry the trio’s sharper rhythmic moments, while the close stage keeps quieter changes visible. Therefore, songs about uncertainty and adjustment won’t be separated from the physical energy of a live band.
No support act is currently named. Doors open at 7.30pm, and advance tickets cost £16.50 plus fees. The show is strictly for ages 18 and over, so younger ticket holders should not travel.
