Cut Capers Bring New Album Balance to The Cluny
Bristol 11-piece Cut Capers bring fourth album Balance, new vocalists and their full funk, soul, hip-hop and jazz sound to The Cluny.

Cut Capers Newcastle brings the Bristol 11-piece to The Cluny on Thursday 5 November 2026. The band is touring fourth album Balance, with new vocalists and a set spanning funk, soul, hip-hop and jazz.

New vocalists Lady B and Naomi Johnson join the 11-piece line-up for the Balance tour. Their arrival gives the live show another dimension, while the large ensemble retains the brass, rhythm and instrumental detail that define Cut Capers.
Cut Capers Newcastle opens a fourth-album chapter
Balance is the group’s fourth studio album and includes guest appearances alongside new musical directions. However, the tour won’t leave earlier material behind. The set will connect the fourth album with favourites drawn from the band’s first three records.
That catalogue should help the performance move through several moods. Funk can supply the direct dancefloor pull, while soul gives the vocalists room to lead. Meanwhile, hip-hop and jazz open space for rhythmic switches, larger arrangements and individual solos.
The band arrives after a busy touring year. Highlights have included playing to 20,000 people at Festival du Bout du Monde in France, sold-out London shows and a Royal Albert Hall appearance with The Brand New Heavies. Consequently, The Cluny date compresses a festival-scale act into a much closer setting.
An 11-piece group fills both the stage and the sound. Therefore, the performance should feel visually busy as well as musically layered. Cluny’s standing room will also put the audience close to the exchanges between vocalists, horns and rhythm section.
“Medina” offers one route into Cut Capers before the gig, but the newest record gives the date its real focus. The chance to hear Balance alongside three earlier albums should reveal how the band’s arrangements have developed.
Doors open at 7.30pm, and advance tickets cost £15 plus fees. The event is for ages 16 and over. Under-18s must attend with an adult. No support act is currently named.
Cut Capers play The Cluny, Newcastle, on Thursday 5 November 2026. Tickets and current information are available through The Cluny’s official event page. Please check the venue and artist channels before travelling.
