Hels Pattison brings full band show to Pilgrim Newcastle
Newcastle singer-songwriter Hels Pattison brings her full band to Pilgrim on 8 November, with country, indie and folk at the heart of the set.

Hels Pattison Pilgrim Newcastle brings the North East singer-songwriter back to the city with a full band on Sunday 8 November 2026. Doors open at 4pm, with additional support still to be announced, and the afternoon-to-evening slot gives the show a different feel from the usual late-night headline date.
Pattison’s music sits between country, indie folk and guitar-led pop, with a clear Newcastle identity behind it. Her catalogue has grown steadily from early singles such as Ruby and Better Person through the five-track Just What I Do EP and later releases including Merry-Go-Round and Unsympathetic.
Hels Pattison Pilgrim Newcastle expands the songs with a full band
Merry-Go-Round paired country-rock writing with a full North East studio team. The 2025 single was recorded by Alex Blamire at Polestar Studios, with Paul Gregory producing and mixing and a band featuring Zachary Savage, Alex Ferry and Anneka Johnson. That wider arrangement points towards why a full-band Pilgrim show is more interesting than a stripped-back songwriter set.
Pattison’s own Bandcamp places her firmly in Newcastle and describes influences that move from First Aid Kit and Gabrielle Aplin into indie and country territory. The songs themselves often keep the writing direct while the arrangements bring in more weight, especially when guitars and rhythm section sit behind her vocal.
Pilgrim should suit that balance. The venue’s programme regularly moves between jazz, soul, roots music and emerging local artists, and its smaller room keeps the focus close enough for the quieter songwriting details to remain clear when the band pulls back.
The full-band format gives Hels Pattison’s country and indie songs more room to open up live. It also makes this date a useful chance to hear how material first encountered through recordings changes once a complete group is behind it.
Hels Pattison plays Pilgrim Newcastle on Sunday 8 November 2026. Doors are at 4pm, tickets are listed from £7 to £12 and the event is 14+, with under-18s accompanied by an adult. Support artists remain to be announced. Check Pilgrim and Pattison’s channels before travelling for any late updates.
